What is Runner’s High Cookies

Meet the Team

the baker

and owner

Howdy, my name is Logan Russell, and I am the face behind Runner’s High Cookies. I am currently a Senior at Texas A&M University studying in RPTS with a minor in Urban Planning.

When I am not trying my best to earn a degree, you can either find me running or baking cookies for friends and family when I get the chance. These passions of mine have led me to create my own small business that specializes in making homemade gourmet cookies.

Last but not least are those who support our business directly by volunteering at markets or testing new flavors.

We are grateful for all who set aside time out of the day to help grow our brand of cookies. If you want to join our team, click the button below to apply and see what we can do for you.

Meet Gazpacho, one of the welcoming faces you will see at our pop-ups and on our social media.

Gazpacho joined our team because of his love of sweets (especially milk and cookies). Serving as the quality control for all our flavors, he is ready to help us serve warm, delicious cookies for all our customers with smile.

Our mission

“Runner’s High Cookies strives to delight our customers' days through expertly crafted gourmet cookies with a high standard of customer service, all at an affordable price to make the best darn cookie within the Bryan-College Station area.”

Our Values

  • Passion

    “A RECIPE WITH HISTORY”

Just as the recipe began with family, we carry that legacy to share with others. Baking cookies is our extension of hospitality, welcoming you with a Texas “Howdy” and a fresh cookie. We love baking cookies because we love cookies, so expect our redefined classics and original flavors to make you smile. Each customer who chooses to buy from us is not only an opportunity for us to grow but also a chance to share our story so our sweets can be the highlight of your day.

  • Uniqueness

    “FLAVORS LIKE NONE OTHER”

We go beyond your standard chocolate chip cookie. Inspired by friends and family, our flavors are curated to provide novelty, high-quality flavors not offered by your typical chain bakeries all year round. With an ever-growing roster of cookie flavors, we will indeed have a cookie as unique as your tastes are.

  • Transparency

    “NO TRICKS OR GIMMICKS”

The customer should know how we make our dough, no matter the cookie or flavor. We always state the major allergens and ingredients used in each flavor to ensure our customers understand what goes into our dough. We then go the extra mile, always showing the date and time each cookie emerged from the oven, ensuring the freshness of our cookies. Cookies should be enjoyable for everyone, and we are always available if you wish to know more about our process.

  • Community

    “COOKIES THAT CARE”

Our success was only possible with the support of the local communities where we have baked cookies. First used as a small fundraiser for the founder's cross-country team in high school, creating opportunities for people to come together for a sweet cause, which is the heart of our cookies. Whether collaborating with local businesses, TAMU student organizations, or helping new businesses, staying active with our community is a part of who we are as a brand.

  • Sustainability

    “PLANNING FOR THE FUTURE”

Remaining environmentally and resourcefully conscious inside or outside the kitchen is how we save you money and keep our cookies affordable. We apply our years of long-distance running to perform most of our deliveries by bike, significantly reducing carbon emissions and getting those cookies closer to you. No dough or batch of cookies is wasted, discounted after so many days out of the oven, or eaten by one of our members to prevent food waste. Caring about the environment and resources we use is not a checklist for our business but a lifestyle choice we make to plan for a sustainable, fruitful future.

Our Cookies origins

My passion for baking originated when my Mom taught me the family cookie recipe that my Grandma had started. This was the first batch of cookies I made and the creation of my original cookie, The Start Line. Later, I convinced my high school Cross Country team to sell my cookies to fundraise for the team. After many hours of baking, we raised a considerable amount to fund the Cross Country team during my junior and senior years of high school.

About 2 years later, during a trip to NYC, I visited some of the best bakeries there and realized my cookies could be better. Cookie after cookie, I sought to improve my recipe to deliver the best taste, quality, and flavors while still staying true to my Grandma’s original recipe. Finally, after nearly 4 years of baking, encouragement from friends & family, and with the help of a KitchenAid mixer, I believe I have crafted a cookie that is sure to make anyone’s day.

Behind the name

As these cookies began with their origins in running, I wanted to continue that legacy. “Runner’s high” is a term used to describe hormones, called endorphins, released following intense exercise, creating a deeply relaxing state of euphoria. While runner’s high is often rare, I wanted to craft a cookie that will bring that same state of joy and delight in every bite. I believe I have done just that. That’s why I have chosen the name Runner’s High Cookies to sell my cookies. Along with the name, each cookie’s flavor name is based on common running terminology or jargon to keep its running theme.
